            The duties of the Department of Information Technologies are as follows;

         a)To operate the information processing system at the University; to support education, training and 

             research,

         b)To fulfill other information processing services that the University may need.

             The Department of Information Technologies fulfills the duties of creating the infrastructure of  

            information and communication technologies within Fırat University, ensuring their effective use,                        disseminating them and eliminating their problems. Among our main duties;

• - Determining the needs of our university regarding information technologies,
• - Planning the necessary projects of information materials in line with the needs,
• - Designing, coding and updating the information systems software needed by the units of our university, which can be completed with internal resources,
• - To meet the information needs arising during the education, training and research activities carried out at the University in the shortest time and in the most appropriate manner from within the country or abroad,
• - Preparation of technical tender processes,
• - Ensuring that the purchased equipment and services are put into use,
• - Ensuring the connection of the system with other centers in Turkey and abroad,
• - Provision and operation of internet service within and between campuses,
• - Maintenance and repair of all computer and hardware products in the university,
• - Ensuring the continuation of computer-aided services of the units at the University,
• - Set up multi-user computer systems,
• - Providing necessary support to the university's computer-aided trainings,
• - Establishment of computer laboratories for education and other activities.
